Timber Operations and Sustainable Practices
W T K Holdings Berhad (“WTK”) and its subsidiaries (“the Group”) operate timber concessions strategically located along the Balleh River, a key tributary of the Rejang River in central Sarawak. The Group focuses on responsible timber management, ensuring sustainable practices and environmental stewardship across all its operations. The Group has obtained one (1) Forest Management Certification (“FMC”) under the Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme (“MTCS”) - Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (“PEFC”).

Comprehensive Timber Operations
The timber segment encompasses integrated operations across upstream timber harvesting, reforestation, and timber processing operation. Six (6) timber concession areas cover approximately 194,000 hectares, primarily in Sarawak. Timber harvesting practices ensure sustainability and compliance with environmental standards.
Sustainable Forest Management
Sustainable Forest Management (“SFM”) provides a comprehensive strategy to ensure forest activities yield economic, environmental, and social benefits while balancing competing needs and preserving forest functions for the future. WTK protects forests, supports forest-dependent communities and local economies, addresses illegal logging challenges, and explores sustainable development opportunities.

On July 24, 2020, Interglobal Empire Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, achieved FMC for the Entulu – Melatai Forest Management Unit (FMU), encompassing 55,112 hectares, with a 30-year timber license tenure valid until December 25, 2053. The Entulu – Melatai FMU, with a total licensed area of 63,890 hectares, forms part of the Baleh Protected Forest within the Baleh Hydro Project area and the Heart of Borneo.
