Empowering Local Communities, Building Shared Progress
Supporting Local Communities
The Group focuses on establishing strong relationships with the communities in which it operates, supporting efforts that contribute to local well-being and development.
Our community investment efforts are thoughtfully directed towards areas where we operate—particularly in Sibu, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang—to ensure that our support is both relevant and impactful. The Group seeks to create positive, lasting impacts that align with mutual growth and progress.

Our Guiding Approach
We take a strategic and inclusive approach to community investment, focusing on initiatives that align with our business priorities while addressing local needs. Each investment is guided by three core principles:
Relevance
Meeting real needs of local communities
Alignment
Supporting areas linked to our core business operations
Sustainability
Creating long-term shared value and positive impact for both society and business
A History of Giving Back
Supporting Local Institutions
WTK donated RM215,000 worth of medical equipment, including an ultrasound diagnostic system and an endoscope drying cabinet, to Sibu Hospital in 2025, supporting quality healthcare for the local community.
Promoting Inclusivity
WTK contributed RM78,000 to the Sarawak Society for the Blind – Sibu Division Branch, a registered not-for-profit organisation, through its 47th Annual Open House cum Food and Fun Fair on 12 October 2025, reflecting our support for vulnerable communities and social inclusion.

Employee Engagement in Charitable Programmes
The Group encourages employees to take an active role in giving back to society through structured opportunities for volunteerism and community involvement. We believe that employee participation strengthens our social impact while fostering a more inclusive and purpose-driven workplace culture.
Key Mechanisms to Support Involvement
WTK Recreational Club as the Main Engagement Channel
The WTK Recreational Club plays a central role in organising and coordinating employee involvement in charitable programmes and community events. Serving as a bridge between employees and charitable partners, the Club facilitates activities such as fundraising drives, donation events and volunteer outreach.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement
Post-event feedback is collected to better understand employee experiences and identify areas for improvement. This ensures that our volunteering framework remains meaningful, inclusive and aligned with both employee interests and community needs.
Commitment to Indigenous Rights and Local Communities
WTK’s Rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Policy supports sustainable development while upholding the dignity and rights of these communities. The Group works to make a positive impact on the community by increasing employment opportunities and promoting greater inclusivity and accessibility.
