Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emission for a Cooler Planet and a Brighter Future
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Accounting
WTK adopts internationally recognised standards to ensure accuracy and transparency in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting. The Group follows the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard to calculate emissions across its operations and value chain.
For further details, please refer to WTK’s GHG Inventory Methodology Statement.
Our Scope
To achieve net-zero emissions across the entire value chain, WTK addresses greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all three scopes—direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and other indirect emissions across the value chain (Scope 3).
Scope 1 Emission
Direct GHG emissions from sources owned and controlled by the Group.

Stationary Combustion

Land Use Emissions

Mobile Combustion

Effluent Treatment
Scope 2 Emission
Indirect GHG emissions from the generation of purchased electricity consumed by the Group.

Purchased Electricity
Scope 3 Emission
Other indirect emissions across the Group’s value chain, including both upstream and downstream activities.

Purchased Goods and Services

Waste Generated in Operations

Downstream Transportation and Distribution

Fuel- and Energy-Related Activities Emissions

Business Travel

Upstream Transportation

Employee Commuting
Our Carbon Emission and Reduction
Over the three-year period, the Group's GHG emissions profile remained dominated by Scope 1 emissions, which consistently accounted for more than 93% of total emissions. Total GHG emissions increased significantly in FY2024, primarily driven by higher Scope 1 emissions, before declining in FY2025 following improvements in Scope 3 emissions. While Scope 1 emissions continued to increase in FY2025, Scope 2 emissions declined substantially due to lower purchased electricity consumption, reducing their contribution to just 0.2% of the Group's total GHG emissions.
Total GHG Emission:
576,669.4 MTCO₂e
Total GHG Emission:
1,129,774.6 MTCO₂e
Total GHG Emission:
1,032,672.7 MTCO₂e
Summary of Carbon Intensity Reduction Across Segments
Currently, carbon intensity comparisons are based solely on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as certain Scope 3 categories in FY2023 lack complete and traceable data. Generally, plantation and food business segments showed an increasing trend in carbon intensity between FY2023 and FY2025. Tapes, timber and investment holding and others business segments showed a decreasing trend in carbon intensity between FY2023 and FY2024. These improvements reflect ongoing efforts to optimise energy use, enhance resource efficiency and improve overall sustainability performance.
